We are pleased to announce the launch of the International Co-production Accelerator Program (ICAP). The CMPA is working with renowned international consultant Jan Miller on the design and implementation of the program.
International producers with feature films and/or drama series in development that hold international appeal and have the potential to attract co-production partners are encouraged to apply to the initiative by the August 6 deadline.
The ICAP program is composed of two streams. The Feature Film Stream will run from early-October to the end of November 2021. The Drama Series Stream will run from mid-January to mid-March 2022. ICAP will be presented virtually, offering masterclasses with industry players in the international production arena, content development, case studies, and pitching. As well it will include networking opportunities with international producers and 1-2-1 project consultations, with experts providing targeted feedback. The time commitment will be a maximum of two group sessions per week as well as five 1-2-1 sessions with industry experts over the course of the eight-week program.
The feature film stream will begin in early October and conclude at the end of November 2021, while the drama series stream will begin in January and conclude in March 2022. The program will be presented virtually, offering masterclasses with experts in the international production arena, content development, case studies, pitching, as well as networking opportunities with international producers and 1-2-1 project consultations with experts providing targeted feedback.
The course content will cover international financing options, legal considerations for doing business internationally and distribution strategies for feature films and drama series.
In addition to the group sessions, the program will put great emphasis on personalized support services to each participant to ensure that the goals set for the program are met.
The cost to participate for international producers is $2,500 (CAD). This initiative is made possible through the support of Global Affairs through its CanExport for Associations Program.
